The team has a number of "environmentally friendly" electric powered models. These models take advantage of the increasing efficiency of both the motors and batteries that technology has provided to make practical flying models that can be operated without the noise and mess of internal combustion (IC) powered models. These quiet models can be operated from sites that are unsuitable for IC models and some of them can even be flown indoors.

The Ghost Squadron have many different types of electric models that the team members use for recreational flying but which have also been used to good effect at air shows where the contrast between them and conventional models can be seen.

All the models have full flying controls and proportional speed controllers giving full control of the motors. Typical flying times for these models is 8 to 10 minutes per charge. Batteries can then be recharged in approximately 30 to 45 minutes.One of our twin stars which  had been  fitted with lights was flown by John from one century to the next .taking off at 10 minutes to midnight and landing at 10 minutes past  midnight so seeing the new century in  . A once in a life time opportunity.
