Orlik 3
To go with the Tiger Moth John is also building a ½ scale Orlik 3 glider. This model will have a 7.5m wingspan and is projected to weigh 35 kg. The construction of the model is closely following the full size and is being skinned in 0.8mm ply using the same panel layout as the full size.
All the parts for this model were drawn by John in AutoCAD and cut out by Alan using the teams new CNC cutting machine. This is the first time the team have produced model parts this way but consider it is the way for the future.
