This project was started after the success of the router, it uses the

same software as the router for both control and milling. The mill is still under development but has already proved it can drive a 35 mm fly cutter.

The working area is 430 mm in the X plane ,240 mm in the Y plane and a

Z axis movement of 160 mm .The mill is mainly constructed of alu but even so it weighs somewhere near 200 kilo’s, this required a re-enforced bench be built for it to stand on. As well as as milling drilling and tapping it can probe 3D objects when fitted with a suitable  probe and produce files for milling on the router. A second larger mill is already under construction

It is also planned to convert the MD 65 lathe to CNC as this requires very little work to achieve. The control software is Mach 3 ,this will control lasers, plasma, lathe, mill ,foam cutters as well as routers and mills. Basically it will control any CNC equipment up to 6 axis .The Cam software is Sheet cam and comes from the UK. This will produce files in 2.5 D

The box on the left is a simple control box which allows basic program and axis movement without having to use the keyboard, this box is also used with the router
