Bernie was looking for a model that he could demonstrate a Fiala Motors FM250 R5 Radial, having good contacts in the Czech Republic, he was introduced to Dan Bartusek of ‘Baden Airplane Kits, The model is available in a very Complete kit, But Dan also offered to build Bernie one, Seemed like too good an offer to refuse, but did then cause issues to get it to the UK, it needed a big box. Once  in the UK was fitted out by John Greenfield with a Fiala 5-cylinder radio, a mixture of Savox and Jeti servos and Jeti model Radio gear with PowerIon batteries.
At 25Kg the model was put through the LMA testing process, then had its maiden flight at Binham, completing its LMA Over 25kg flight program over a couple of days without any issues. Has since flown successfully many times including Towing up some big scale Gliders. It is a very predictable and enjoyable model to fly, it's slow handling  and short take-offs and landings as per the full size.
